Penicillin was a major breakthrough in the modern age of healthcare. However, Penicillin was actually rediscovered as it was used in ancient Egypt to treat wounds. The early Egyptians used moldy bread to grow the Penicillin fungus to treat topical wounds. They stopped short of perfecting it for oral administration as far as we know. This begs the question, why does so much of human ingenuity seem to be lost to the sands of time. Perhaps, communities were scattered so that information dissemination was limit. Another plausible theory could be that each group had its own approach to science? What do you think?
