Strange Arial phenomenon have gripped the publics interest all over the world from the early days of man. From cave paintings to stories of visitation by gods from other worlds in strange craft. Since the second world war (WWII) sightings of unknown craft have grown exponentially. Questions were raised by the public as who piloted these objects. The bomber crews running raids over Germany in WWII nicknamed these strange craft 'Foo Fighters'. Pilots back then much like now were afraid to come out with their stories for one very simple reason. The major governments did not official acknowledge the existence of these craft and anyone who stuck to their story did not have much merit to stand on.
Moreover, if one should stick to his/her story this would make the individual questionable when it came to their mental state of mind as their superiors could not afford to allow questionable characters to pilot multi million dollar aircraft. As a result pilots were encouraged to drop the topic and any reports of strange craft were locked away in classified files. When these classified files got large enough whimsical efforts were made to investigate them but the public was only offered more questions as whole sections of those very investigations were not made available to the public citing the need for secrecy.
So what has changed now? The Pentagon disclosed on April 27th of 2020 that these strange craft are real and they went even further to say that these objects are not operated by the United States, its allies or enemy states. The Pentagon further illustrates this point by releasing footage taken from Naval aircraft with pilot commentary showing these objects dart at mind boggling speeds and acting like G forces were absent.
Why now? There are several speculative reasons for this in my opinion. The first reason is, should the authorities come out and outright disclose this information in great detail it may create pandemonium among certain sections of the public. Secondly, the best time to disclose this type of information is during an situation when pandemonium is at its peak. We got that situation in the form of the corona virus infection. Everyone was in a state of fear for their health and that of their loved ones. Disclosure of this kind is unlikely to ruffle enough feathers if their is a greater threat of the virus on someone's mind.
A third factor could potentially be attributed to the success of SpaceX. With the increasing use of private space craft and mind boggling pace of innovation in the private space operations theatre, it is inevitable that if there is something to hide out there it's just going to be much harder to do it. SpaceX is accelerating its BFR development. This large (BFR) rocket is capable of reaching Mars. Eventually anyone who could afford a seat will be able to fly to the Moon and possibly beyond eventually. Since the government's hold on space travel is collapsing air brushing strange craft from photos and hiding pictures in classified files is going to be more and more impractical.
